Carers issues taken to the Learning Disability Partnership Board on 23rd November 2015

Attached are the issues taken to the Partnership Board at its annual review meeting on 23rd November 2015. For this presentation, we selected out the most significant issues raised during the last twelve months, highlighting on each slide when the issue had been raised before, and making proposals for solutions whenever possible. Cllr Viv Kendrick, the lead Member for Adult Services was present for this presentation.

It is a few months since this website was updated. Many apologies for this. The updating process depends on one willing volunteer, who has been unable to do it for a little while, but is now back in the frame. No voice unheard, no right ignored

The Government has produced a consultation paper with a variety of proposals to improve the lives of people with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism. This comes in the light of all the reports arising from the Winterbourne View scandal. Family carers are invited to send in their comments by 29th May 2015.

The Learning Disability Alliance is asking people with learning disabilities, their families and their allies to say what they think about the current UK Government.
